I got caught out changing the discs/pads on an Octavia when I found you needed star sockets and had to buy a set. Never used them again. Might be worth checking.

Is Euro Car Parts the best place to go for these parts? I have an Octavia 11 plate and looking to do discs and pads, front and back. I've been told Ferodo might be the brand currently used on the car but was looking at ATE.

Anyone changed these on an Octavia and know what the original discs were?
    I rarely use ECP anymore.
Tend to just hunt around on ebay or buy from autodoc in germany. Recently I picked up Febi rear brake discs and pads plus fitting kit for my merc for only £50 on ebay from carpartsinmotions ebay arm. Great deal!

Try your local TPS, depending on the manager they might serve you.
The parts club prices are normally very cheap.....often they're doing deals on brake sets.

Euro car parts, not as cheap but you can often get OE parts from them.
Put your VIN in a decoder to find out the OE setup ie VINCODERZ.

I have looked up my local TPS branch and I think I'll go and see if I can get my parts from there.

    My preference is autodoc.co.uk
I've had a look at autodoc and the prices and the parts are what I'm looking for. If TPS doesn't come to fruition I will look further into autodoc.
  • Find a handy motor factors and when they identify the relevant parts and cost, ask what their best price is. Mine will usually match or get very close to trade price, or offer at a price that equates to no vat.

I’ve used parts in motion before, genuine parts.
They sell on eBay and there own site.
A bit cheaper when ordering direct, but give discounts.
ie match eBay’s deal at the time.
