Can anyone recommend a good place to buy brake discs and pads?
Options
Is Euro Car Parts the best place to go for these parts? I have an Octavia 11 plate and looking to do discs and pads, front and back. I've been told Ferodo might be the brand currently used on the car but was looking at ATE.
Anyone changed these on an Octavia and know what the original discs were?

I like, Ate, Textar and Trw.
My friend buys all his Textar brake pads and discs from eBay.0 -
Brakes are important. I would only buy from a reputable source, a known outlet such as ECP, Halfords (A bit over-priced - but again you know you're getting the real deal) or a good motor factors sticking to known brands (one that's been around years)
Nothing against ebay and other online market places - but with the number of rebadged cheap fake components on the market - I'd only buy brakes from somewhere I trusted with my life!
Euro Car Parts certainly aren't bad - they do have a lot of voucher discounts, so the prices are a bit inflated to start with - so if you use them, make sure you've got a voucher applied to your basket. ECP does also have a habit of putting 'big names' on average performance parts - but still decent enough quality for everyday use.

Try your local TPS, depending on the manager they might serve you.
The parts club prices are normally very cheap.....often they're doing deals on brake sets.
Euro car parts, not as cheap but you can often get OE parts from them.
Put your VIN in a decoder to find out the OE setup ie VINCODERZ.
Funnily, i've been pondering a small Caddy sized van to facilitate a side project i'm going to work on. I havent seen much movement yet, but in theory markets like pickups and vans are likely to be hit by the upcoming downturn.Would be interesting to hear if anyone has direct experience? Why? So you can argue with them?0 -

My preference is autodoc.co.uk0

I'm with venomx on this - i use autodoc.
One thing i would say is even though they have a .co.uk domain they ship from Germany so you need to allow a little time for that. I tend to allow 2 weeks for delivery (worst case), last delivery took just a matter of days, so maybe they've improved.
Tend to be cheaper than the other online sources, but obviously worth checking them to see whos cheapest.
Another vote for ATE, though i'm also a fan of Brembo. I've just ordered Brembo drilled rear discs and ATE ceramic pads for my R32 from autodoc.

Compare ECP prices with https://www.gsfcarparts.com/ and https://www.carparts4less.co.uk/
I usually find CP4L cheapest for same branded parts.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
We have used them all in our garage, we mainly work on german cars and there is only one comapny i would recommend and that is GSF everything about them from the customer service to the quick deliverys is spot on for us we may be lucky and just have a really good branch where we are in west yorkshire...Euro car parts used to be good for us but over the years due to cuts etc... the service is horrible ques going out of the door when you need to collect in a hurry, notorious for giving wrong parts out etc... staff are so slow at serving if they went any slower they would stop, we only use them now if we really have toGSF might be a little more expensive but the service is great which means a lot to me tells me a lot about the ethos of the company, hope that helps

I tend to stick to Pagid, Mintex or Textar for brakes.
They are all made by the same company, TMD Friction.
You can usually find a discount code for both Eurocarparts and Carparts4less if you search around the internet a bit.
Be careful of some Ebay listings, some have been known to list brake packages a bit slyly.
"Brembo brake pads and discs" can sometimes mean Brembo brake pads and anyones discs.1
