Nationwide Flexplus account

Been trying for over a week to apply for this account online via the link on MSE and directly on the Nationwide website. Keeps giving me an error. Cannot apply for a joint account over the phone. Just wondered if anyone else had same problem? Tried contacting Nationwide and they said they had a glitch but IT dept were sorting it. This was last weekend.

If they've fixed it but you still get the error it may be a cookie issue at your end? Maybe try a different browser.

I agree, it sounds very much like a problem with your browser as everything seems to be working fine for me (using Chrome, without any extensions)

Cleaning your browsing history and cookies might help, or use a different browser.

I second this, I have lots of problems using Firefox and Nationwide but non using Chrome. I also have had problems with Santander chat on Firefox but not Chrome.

I only ever use Firefox and never have an issue with Nationwide, and I log in to them about once a week

Small thread hijack, if people don’t mind.
Is the passcode (6 number one)  for Nationwide internet banking one that you make up yourself?
Parent doesn’t have a scooby what hers is and is getting a technical error message when trying to reset.
If we had a clue how how the number is generated it may help her to remember it.

Thanks and apologies to the OP.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.
  • Certainly the passcode I have for N/W is clearly generated by them, it's not one I would have come up with.

I don't have a passcode but a passnumber, 6 digits, and definitely one I selected myself. Though IIRC, I did change the passnumber from one that was originally assigned to me by Nationwide.

    Have you tried this: https://www.nationwide.co.uk/help/online-banking-help/locked-out-of-online-bank/?

If that doesn't work, you can get a new passnumber by re-registering for online banking

My 6 digit Nationwide passcode is also very definitely one that I've chosen myself.

Thanks. I think I mean pass number. That re-register link is the one that hasn’t been working.
