@mroshaw     I wonder if your reading of the meters is at the root of this.

Can you post photos and tell us what you think the readings are please ?

I expect it's the usual combination of 'catching up' due to estimated readings, the DD being raised as we go into winter with the increased unit tariff, possibly a family used to long hot showers, heating set quite high in all rooms, cooking 3 meals 7 days a week at home, computers on all day plus the usual monitors/routers/printers, loads of gadgets in the home (washing machine, tumble dryer, American FF, dish-washer, coffee machine, range cooker, large TV(s), patio heater, fish tanks, bit-coin miner etc)

Yes, I'm definitely going to get some facts together when the missus gets back (she has the account details to access our energy account). I'll share once I get them, as I think everyone is on to something here. It may actually just be that we're a terrible drain on the world's energy resources!

I *think* the gas reading of 3724 has just come from the meter.  To convert to Kwh is 3274 X 11.2 = 41,708kwh

Which, is indeed, a shedload of gas for a 3 bed semi !

The meter read for the gas is 828 between readings, 12 months apart. The gas meter states units of 10dm3.
The meter read for the electricity is 7057 between readings, 12 months apart. The electricity meter states units of KWh.

Then WOW re the electric -  lots and lots of threads as to possibilities .    Do your detective work - go through your house room by room, the loft, the garage, the shed, the pond. Forget the phonechargers - you want energy hungry things -  we have had multiple fridges, fish tanks, showers, pond pumps, gaming pc's,   extra heaters.   You've got some work in front of you.

Have you given todays readings to your supplier ?

    A 10dm3 meter? That’s odd.  Or does it say “1 pulse = 10dm3”?

That's an unusal measurement unit. What is the make and model of the gas meter?
Edit: is it like this, where it says "1 pulse = 10dm3"?

828 is still a strange difference though. Everything suggests that you are a high user, but if that’s in m3 it is a below average gas consumption (about 9000kWh).

If it was a ‘00ft3 meter, this would be about 26000kWh - over double the typical but matching your electricity (where you are also a little over double the typical).

    I wouldn’t expect to see dm3 pulses on a ft3 meter though.

If its 3724 units then that could be 41700 kwh of gas or £4300 a year and your electricity is £2500 so is it 3724 units or kwh?

Yes, sorry, that is indeed what it says.
