They're quite well known for being inflexible.
I guess that attitude must work for them but as they bought the debts for maybe 10p in the £ I don't see why you should massively contribute to their profits.
Make your offer in writing. If they flat turn it down, ask what figure they had in mind.
If they come back with something like 90 or 100% leave it and try again in 6 months.
I always recommend using or adapting the National Debtline template but leave the Without Prejudice header in as that is quite important

Have you checked it they are enforceable?

I presume you meant credit card debts
Yes - doing a cca request on them is a good idea

Thanks but the debt has been passed to PRA can I still get CCA ??0

You can still make the request to them and the debt is unenforceable until they provide it - which of course is now more unlikely as the credit card company may not help them find it
A reconstruction would comply but it must be an accurate reconstruction1 -
Thanks So ask PRA ? Sorry but what’s a reconstruction ? Of the agreement you mean ?0

Yes, if they can't find the original they are allowed to reconstruct the original but it must contain everything apart from your signature.
Make a formal request with £1 postal order to comply with the act - the PO doesn't need to be crossed or made out to anyone.1 -
PRA seem to be the worst for negotiating F&F settlements. But they did tell us that ours is unenforceable so as its the smallest debt of the lot, we are just plodding along with £1 a month and will deal with the others first.Making the debt go down and savings go up

if its unenforceable why are you even paying £1 a month. all you are doing is keeping it alive so it wont be statute barred. I have allegedly a debt with them for over £4000, ive never paid them a penny, they havnt come up with a CCA i requested and so have left me alone. Next year it will be beyond the 6 years for statute barring.1

You're making a rod for your own back here.
It will never become statute barred as you are paying it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
