I have just been activated and just been deactivated just as I received me first months stamps and commemorative stamps.

I always had some issues, last year when I was on the panel. for about 2 months I did not receive any of my posting packs or any incoming mail. I thought it was strange.

I recall last year there were two test items I received that didn't have any postage on them and the postal worker delivered them anyway. I wrote to mailagents about that - maybe they realised the the postal workers knew I was a panellist and they delivered the stuff anyway.

Anyyywayy. I received an email today from mailagents saying that in an internal review they have found out that my address has become public knowledge that it's a test address.. dont know how, didn't come from me. I wonder if the postal workers have the addresses marked as test addresses and they share the information so my address gets priporitise (I have always had good mail at my address, tracked 48 seems to be delivered next day to me).

It sounded vague whther they suspect i informed someone (I didn't). But I have now been deactivated.

That is bad luck. I understand how postal workers can guess your address is on the panel, I don’t understand how Spectos finds out.

I once realised I was sending a test item to a fellow forumite by their username and a few of the things they had posted here. Maybe Spectos use AI to do somethiing similar?

hard to even begin guessing with the ambiguity. possible that the delivery office has identified the test items (very easy to notice. unusally light parcels, DL with an a6 foam with slightly hard bit in the foam. etc. Once that knowledge gets leaked to one worker they'll be able to tell the others. they could simply have a list of addresses at the sorting table. The manager could easily just find the list and report it all to mailagent.

IMHO I beleive the issue is lack of randomness in the appearance of the test items. they are all so predictable. I can look at the letter and know its a test item. and differentiate it from real mail.

its a shame because I have a business which sends out letters and large letters. The stamps were worth the hard cash face value to me. I was selling these to my business at face value.

I don’t understand why it would be in the managers interest to report it mailagent? Surely, it would be better to make sure their area got a good rating by prioritising the survey member’s address.

the posties and managers traditionally have a rivalry, managers are company men posties are union workers, AFAIK.

mailagents surveys is important to the company so they know mail is delivered properly and workers are held to account. if the posties are identifying postal survey panellists and making it seem they are performing better than they are, then it doesnt help anyone.
