Council tax single occupancy question

Hi,
I am potentially moving abroad for the majority of the year for work. I will still be paid in the UK and be a UK resident. My partner will be in the house alone. I am not sure how often I will return to the UK (it could be as little as a couple of weeks a year, or as month as a few months).
Would my partner be eligible for the single persons council tax discount? Or is this not applicable as it would technically still be my UK address?
Thanks

I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.1 -

I work for a local authority. Unfortunately, because you haven't technically moved out & will return your partner would not be eligible for a single occupancy discount.0

I would ensure i am technically moved out as well as clearly moved out.0

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -
