Facebook Group - Account Banned -

I created a new Facebook account to manage a Facebook group on  mental health for my local area.

However, Facebook had other ideas.  My account was frozen initially pending upload of a photograph etc.  Then the account was disabled permanently even though I uploaded the photo.

I now have had to restart the Facebook group from another account.  I am wondering what Facebook community rule I violated?  I hardly did anything on the group.  Just a link to NHS guidance on Exercise and a well-respected CBT website.

As far as I'm aware Facebook doesn't allow anything that promotes CBD usage (I assume you meant CBD in your post).

probably for having multiple accounts. Sure that's against their standards.

Why not just create the group from your usual account?

Yeah, there's the issue.  Shouldn't have created the second account as you can only have one,
Just use the one you have now., not sure why you think you need another account.
  • Thanks for the answers.  I do have a normal account but I do not really use it and besides I would rather have a separate account for the group.  On other services people have many accounts so I was assuming Facebook would be the same.

I was wondering if linking to medical websites was the issue since I am not a doctor or a therapist.

I can confirm that I meant CBT as in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

What you link to in a group is for the most part irrelevant, providing its not illegal, in bad taste or completely unsuitable for Facebook.  If you were posting links to how to cut your leg off, then yes it probably wouldn't be suitable.

However CBT isn't off limits on Facebook:

  • OK. Thank you to all.

Will see what happens when I continue with it again.

If you continue with another fake account you'll find both accounts banned.

Why do you need a separate account to run the group? It's a group for people with shared experiences. You think the other People would be happy knowing they're sharing their deepest fears with a fake profile?

It's possible that someone complained about the fake profile.
  • I don't really think it can be called a fake account when it has my name on it and the group is for the local area where I have lived for a long time.  I just wanted to keep that separate from my main account.

The group was invisible as it was under construction. No one likely knew about the group or the account other than me.
