It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

No, those use the mobile phone masts which have their own backup.

Even putting it straight on a hanger isn't the same.

And the smell of money in the bank not spent on irons, electricity and that free time to do what I want.
Money saving isn't an exact science, but personally, my cotton t-shirts are just fine to wear after going on a hanger out of the machine and I'd rather spend my time and money doing something fun wearing my t-shirt rather than faffing about with them.

Most mobile masts have their own battery backup as well, I think the recommendation is 1 hour, the emergency services rely on it so there are some recommendations.

I have even seen some mobile masts running off a generator 24/7 near where I live but I think that was an exception.

WE had an unplanned outage in a small city and several local towns quite recently. The landline and internet continued to work (we have 67mbs fibre to the cabinet) for the whole 90 mins the power was off. The mobile network (all of them) went down as soon as the power went off. I had to go out and collect my daughter as otherwise she was walking home in the pitch dark, no streetlights and got a tiny bit of voice coverage in the centre of the city but no data. SO my experience is the broadband does still work but the mobile networks don't.I think....1
