The usual reason is that the keeper has failed to update their address on the vehicle's Registration Document(V5c).2020pensioner said:We've no idea why first two letters weren't received.
Can you confirm that is not the case here?
Please check. Don't guess.0 -
Great. ThanksFruitcake said:If the address on the V5C is correct, then add a one liner to the appeal stating that the most recent letter is the first to be received so the keeper is treating it as the NTK. This may have to be done by email or post if the appeal portal rejects it. Do ensure that the no keeper liability point is highlighted, and that the driver's identity is never revealed.
Do still carry out Plan A as well as the landowner and MP complaints as well.
Although I have no proof, I am of the opinion that more post to or from PPCs fails to arrive compared with any other industry in the UK.0 -
I have submitted the appeal on GN's website, using the standard template and adding the suggested one-liner about non-receipt of the previous notices. Thanks for the help so far. I'm curious - why do you guys do this? Is it purely that you enjoy fighting against the forces of evil (your good deed for the day)? Or because the way they operate really gets your goat and you just can't let them get away with it...?0

Personally: I've done this for about 15 years, since well before clamping was banned. Found this board by accident when I was a keen couponer on MSE (hence the username). Realised I found this area of 'scam beating' easy and the laws & case law fairly simple to apply, to help people win against greedy bullies.
I wrote the NEWBIES guidance in 2013 after rogue ticketing and court claims predictably became the 'new clamping' scam, and later, briefly jointly ran a company doing private PCN appeals and defences. Now I do this free.
Court claim numbers by the rogue PPCs were ramped up after the Supreme court farce in 2015 (ParkingEye v Beavis) which turned out only to be a minor setback. Tens of thousands of court claims per annum were flying in (and still are), yet we were soon noting a 99% court defence win rate on here.

I got involved when I was a union rep and two of my members came to me for help after getting an unfair council PCN and an unfair private PCN respectively in company hire cars. On both occasions the hire company paid the charges and then charged my colleagues via their company credit card.
I was incensed because they could have lost their jobs over this.
I got the hire company to refund the council charge when I proved it was their driver not my colleague who parked the car.
I got the private charge refunded twice. Once by the hire company and once by the hotel where my colleague was staying. I let my manager and the finance department sort out the double repayment mess.
I used the information from this site to help my colleagues beat the unfair charges and decided to repay my gratitude by learning the ropes and helping others.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

I started helping on the forum almost 10 years ago after ParkingEye decided to tangle with one of mine. I learned the ropes, starting by providing basic advice with which I was confident, moving up the ranks to give more detailed advice to the point at which I am now. I enjoy helping people to overcome their anxieties and help give them the confidence to stand up to bullies trying to extort money from them.Did PE manage to extract anything from my daughter? What do you think? And since then, I've cost them and their ilk thousands upon thousands - an extremely poor return on their punt for £100! Never grab a tiger by the tail .........Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Although I am quite a recent arrival here ( and am still benefiting from advice from the regulars), it is because , like so many, I started as a 'victim' looking for answers.2020pensioner said:I have submitted the appeal on GN's website, using the standard template and adding the suggested one-liner about non-receipt of the previous notices. Seeing as I have a pathological hatred for bullies, I now stick around and offer whatever help I can to others. The pen is mightier than the sword ..... and I have many pens.3 -

Hi all. It’s the waiting game now. Can I ask how you have all determined that the GN charge is non-POFA? They refer to POFA2012 on the reverse of the notice that we did receive0
