Oh yes, I must learn to read before posting. A recent decision to change to whole amount so still had the bank credit in my head 🙄.pochase said:
For monthly whole amount the payment is deducted from the bill and not returned after the direct debit goes through. That is also explained on their web site.Fairzo said:I've had £66 credit added to my EDF account. A little confusing as I'd anticipated it being paid into my bank account.
I've just changed from monthly budget direct debit to monthly whole amount so maybe different methods of credit for each.
(Appreciate this doesn't answer the question 😟).

Be patient - I've seen 4/5 days mentioned for the bank transfer. Also had the same credit/refund messages yesterday.JustTakeAllMyMoney said:In the EDF app I see a refund of £66 and a payment of £66 but I never received the refund in bank so I'm confused what's going on as overall I'm flat, rang edf they had no idea and apparently the system is down due a upgrade who does an upgrade in working week on an IT system.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1 -
You don't get it transfered to your bank account.GlasgowExpat2 said:How do I transfer the credit to my bank account. It says to complete a form but I can’t fine it on the website ?
As per the information I posted you if you pay on receipt of the bill you just pay less.
You are aware that paying on receipt of a bill is 7% more expensive than paying by either fixed direct debit or whole amount direct debit?0 -
Thanks that's all the edf rep need to tell me but in fact there were incredibley rude shockingly so, if anyone from EDF reads this post I'm happy to contacted and the call recording listened to as the Edf rep either needs to retraining or to consider another job outside of customer service. I quoted what there own website said and said it was wrong, he told me I would need to re-register on the app after updating it no you don't, then threatened to report me as a customer who cannot manage their account because I said his attitude was bad. Obviously the guy was stressed but don't take it out on the customer hope he does report me so they can listen to the call I'm still in shock.Robin9 said:

I’m on a fixed rate. My electric bills is about £30 a month so I want the balance in my bank account.pochase said:

Don’t think it works that way. If your bills are less than the credit it will just roll over to the next one. Looks like you won’t have to pay a bill for a while if your usage is that lowGlasgowExpat2 said:

I spoke with EDF this morning. The £66 can’t be paid to my bank account as it’s a non refundable credit. However, they’ve moved me to direct debit whole amount so the £66 will be used against the next 2 bills and I’ll receive the remaining subsidy amounts to my bank account.1

I suspect that will not happen. For whole bill DD EDF credit the account with the subsidy and carry any excess forward after billing.GlasgowExpat2 said:I spoke with EDF this morning. You will not get the money paid into your bank account if you remain on DDWAM or your previous method of paying on receipt of bill.
It is clearly stated in the table from the EDF website that has already been posted.0 -
I had the same on my bill today. I increased my DD at end of September to cover the price rise. This was set to include the £66 rebate which I then got as cash in the bank. However, EDF have deducted this £66 from my bill so I think I have had double relief (once in cash, once as a reduction in charges). In the summary of rebate treatment on MSE, EDF were listed as cash refund not bill deduction.Would you all agree? I’m keeping quiet either way…
