OK well let me give a real-life example to help me understand. I'm in the second year of a 12-month contract with ID of unlimited calls/texts and 100GB per month, which is now not enough. I was going to wait until Black Friday (25 November) but won't make it to the end of this month (27th) as I only have a handful of GBs left. If I take ID's offer of 200GB/1 month contract as an interim measure, maybe tomorrow, are you saying that I could then leave ID on Black Friday weekend without notice or penalty? If so, would this still apply if the one month deal I get is with a different provider?0

I do wish they would put basic information like this on their website instead of just presuming that everybody knows!0 -

It's automatic (done within 30 minutes) and you'll get a pro-rata allowance of the higher data allowance until your upcoming bill date when you'll get the full amount. Any unused data won't rollover until the following bill though. This link here should be quite informative: https://www.idmobile.co.uk/help-and-advice/plan-changes
