Mobile Phone Contract That Works in Falkland Islands
Options
I have recently moved to the Falkland Islands. I am with Sky Mobile and my phone will not operate at all. Having spent many £s and minutes with their helpline, I have been told to buy a local sim. All well and good, I've done that but need to keep my original mobile number for work purposes. What is the best deal for me to transfer to? Judging by Sky Mobile's lack of service, it appears that not all networks have an agreement with the Falkland Islands, strange as overseas British territory. All advice and recommendations VERY VERY much appreciated. Thank you.

Just a thought, since you are now in the Falkland Islands maybe a good idea to talk to a local since they are likely to be knowledgeable about this kind of hyper-local information.

Virgin mobile has roaming in the Falklands.
But, I'm fairly sure if you're there now a number port isn't going to work. The new sim has to be on it's home network to activate.

You can only port your UK phone number when the target SIM is physically network connected in the UK, perhaps somebody there can assist with this then mail you the SIM.
