I'm in London and pay DD, can anyone tell me what this tariff is? Not the EPG, I know that, but the actual Octopus rate. They are not the same for my electricity.
Have asked Octopus but no reponse so far.

The Octopus rate IS the EPG rate just like every other supplier (remember the EPG has regional variations which are often simplified in the press to one number). For London it is 10.510p.

Even their own tables sort of say “these are the cap rates but we might be charging something different”0 -
There is a 4% discount to the electricity standing charge (£6/year), gas doesn't get a discount AFAIK.Deleted_User said:brook_heather said:The Octopus rate IS the EPG rate just like every other supplier (remember the EPG has regional variations which are often simplified in the press to one number). "The exact % varies a tiny bit regionally, and is spread across both electricity and gas standing charges – but a typical dual fuel customer will get their standing charge just over 4% cheaper than the Guarantee."MWT said:

Thanks for your replies. What threw me was that Octopus discount the EPG electricity s/c rate and I tried to find out, unsuccessfully from Octopus, whether they did the same for gas. It seems that there is no dciscount for gas it is the EPG rate. DohNamed after my cat, picture coming shortly0

The gas s/c is slightly discounted too. The EPG according to EDF is 28.48 while Octopus's is 26.84 for SVT paying by DD.caveat_emptor said:Thanks for your replies. Octopus EPG tables were (at one point, maybe they still are) just saying “this is the capped level”, they were not saying “this is what you will be charged”.caveat_emptor said:
