Cut to water bills

Options
I live in a park home on a residential site. My water bill is included in my ground rent. How or will any discount be provided for us in the next year's water bill as is being currently discussed.

I suspect the short answer is "it won't".
The long answer is "you will need to discuss this with the freeholder, and see if they will discount the ground rent".

What discount in the water bill do you refer to?
Or did you mean to refer to energy bill discounts?

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

    Thanks.
So nothing like the energy bill discounts.

That's okay. It means my monthly direct debit will stay the same for yet another year. It hasn't gone up for several years.

I'm with Anglian water they are set to cut bills by £8.5 million next year yippee, but they supply 4.2 million homes. So I expect a £1.90 reduction next year, alternatively I expect it to go up another £5 a month.

I'm with them on a meter (and Severn Trent for sewage) and I nearly choked at the new bill generated this morning. I knew that my usage had gone up a bit - nothing out of the ordinary - but I dug into the unit prices and standing charges and it appears they're now joining the energy companies in hiking both for the most part (with one exception). Naturally even accounting for usage, my direct debit has increased noticeably. Any reductions will be swallowed up and then some by the higher unit prices and charges.

The annoying this is, unlike with energy companies, you don't get prior notice of an increase by email so either you have to be vigilant and submit meter readings prior to any increase like with the energy companies (your average person won't be until the bill arrives because they don't have time) or ignore it until the bill shows up.

I'm with Severn Trent water and they are one of the six that are permitted to increase their costs. In fact they are being allowed to increase by £62.9 million which is the largest increase with the 2nd largest being United Utilities at £24.1 million. That being said it works out at an average of £14.00. Although I'm not complaining they are clearly doing something right and also since having my meter installed 6 years ago I estimate I've saved £!500.
