"we need a £13,500 deposit" would seem to indicate that the OP doesnt have the money.
  • !!!!!!.

With people like this around, no wonder we are in such a mess.

    I really do despair.

Yeah and then in a years time, she will be posting on the bankruptcy board and everyone will be congratulating her for being bankrupt and she will have had a 'horrid few months'.

btw, I process credit cards and it's in my bank within 48 hours, the customer can of course chargeback, but probably not for £13000.

P.s. OP, you are a nutter if you are actually in this situation and do what you are suggesting.

p.p.s. Maybe kids should be given basic lessons in money at school??

As I understood mortgages/deposits, the mortgage would not have been approved (could still be pulled) if the deposit comprises of borrowed money.

    Unless the world went bonkers.

If I were paying on a credit card, (even though I had the cash under my mattress) my worry would be that the mortgage company would spot that and pull my whole mortgage offer from under my feet as there is a box on the mortgage application (or used to be) that asked where the deposit was coming from, or a signature to declare it wasn't also borrowed. I thought.

I agree with PasturesNew, on the mortgage application form you are asked about other debts, so if you are putting the deposit on the credit card this needs to be declared.

If it is simply a matter of waiting for money to come through from another source then there shouldn't be a problem.

They're either on a wind up or absolutley nuts. If I was selling my house and found out several months into the process the buyers needed to raise the deposit on a credit card, the first thing I would do is put the house back on the market.
