Supermarket Online shopping - is this a thing?

Wife is adamant that when online shopping if you place an order say tonight, with delivery for 2 days time, should any items currently on offer end, then you are charged the full price on the day - is that right? I would have thought what you pay at the time of the order is all you have to pay.

Supermarkets can quite legally charge different prices in different branches for the same product.. It's likely that you might pay more for bananas in Sainsbury's Belgravia than Sainsbury's Ashford. It also works the other way. My granmother paid less for strawberries in London than we did in Kent, where they were grown, because of transport costs to and from the distribution centre.
