IME, you have statutory rights.
I am pretty sure you have rights that go waaaay beyond a piece of paper, electronic or not.
As you say, what possible justification can they have to not resend an email, one that THEY must have a copy of, because THEY need to have a record of warranties issued. This is truly gobsmacking.
What regulating body are they tied to? Fensa, for example? Did they notify Building Control of the installation? How did you pay?
You have ways of evidencing the installation date should a claim be required, but that ain't good enough - these twits need to demonstrate some customer service.
Do you have Legal Protection on your house insurance? If so, they can be brought to bear if needed - it usually covers contractual issues. Call them for advice. You also have CAB - you can contact them by phone and online, I understand.
Armed with this advice, I think I'd drop them an email, and give them, say, 5 days to send you a copy of the warranty.
If they fail to do so, then escalate it following the advice from CAB or your LP, and make a formal complaint to their regulating body. Pepper every review site with the facts of the matter, keeping it unemotive and succinct. Punish them for their pedantry in as many ways you can. If they whine, say "What did you expect?!"2 -

What is CaB ?1 -
Citizens Advice Bureau. But, do check your insurance for LP - if you have it, it'll almost certainly include 'contractual disputes'. If so, then almost certainly jobbie jobbed. If you don't have it, well I hope you'll know what to do on renewal...1
