Email Guarantee

Hi i hope this is the right place for my issue.
I got new windows put in last Dec and they sent me my guarantee through email.

But due to losing my dad a few weeks before i mistakenly deleted the email a few months ago , I now have a draft coming in to one of the windows .

They asked me about my guarantee and I explained to them what happened and they are now saying I need my guarantee.

Surely they can just send me the email again as I still have the payment i made in my bank records .

Thanks in advance

Who is your email provider? With Gmail I can see messages sent to me for years back even if I have deleted them locally.

Go to google website, select "Gmail". You should see a dropdown arrow on the left pane titled "More". Click on that and then below that you should see an "All Mail" item, click on that all emails sent to you for a very long time should appear. Do a search to find the one you want.

That will only work if the email was archived. If it was deleted, then it can't be recovered unless OP was already paying for additional storage.

I certainly don't pay for additional storage and all my old emails are available there, so go figure.

If you are receiving your email by POP3 into a client on your PC and are not using the option to delete them on the gmail server, they will stay there, regardless of what you do locally.

My client is Thunderbird on a Mac and if I delete emails in the inbox they also delete on the Gmail server. And yet they are there in the "All Mail" folder regardless.

You'd like to think the company who installed the windows could send you the guarantee again, as they doubtless have a copy of it somewhere. But it is unfortunately not their fault you no longer have the original email.
If it's a fairly big company, you could try calling them and if you get a helpful customer service person, just ask if they can send you a copy, without explaining why you need it. If they are not, and they now know you have an issue that is probably going to cost them, they'll be reluctant to help.
