Travel Insurance - husband nor travelling but has medical condition

Hi all, I'm busy looking for winter sports travel insurance for my holiday prior to paying my balance on it. I've declared my very minor medical condition, the question I have is about my husband who is not travelling. He was diagnosed with a condition in July, with no treatment needed, but will be monitored over the next few years, if he was travelling we would need to declare it. He has another specialist appointment in November, but that's just to check in, not for any further tests or scans as far as we are aware.
I just called Cover For You, who I'll probably use, they couldn't 100% verbally confirm if something happened to him and I decided not to travel if they would cover me.
Do I need to look at specialist cover? Or is the fact that as far as we are aware at the moment, that all is OK, and no treatment is needed good enough for me not to have any knowledge of something which could cause me to cancel?
Any recommendations on what to do?

Declare it.
If you wish to cancel due to a deterioration in an undisclosed but known condition of a close relative you will not be covered.0 -

Read the policy Ts and Cs regarding "close relatives" who are not travelling.

There is this paragraph:
We will not pay for claims arising directly or indirectly from:
1. Circumstances known to you Circumstances known to you before you purchased your policy or at the time of booking any trip which could reasonably have been expected to lead to cancellation or curtailment of the trip.
I'll call them and ask how to declare the condition. Thanks1 -

There was certainly a question in the application form regarding health conditions of close relatives along with a definition of whose demise would allow cancellation or curtailment.
Things may have changed now.

After talking to a few different insurance companies, who won't cover me for someone not travelling who has a pre existing condition... I'm considering taking a policy out for both of us, with his condition declared of course, but him just not coming. I've found a wintersports with cover for all the conditions which is only about £20 more than just me travelling. I'll need to check out the technicalities of this first though.0

Even if he was covered when not a traveller, he would only be covered for serious illness.
so if (and this is only an example) he had some bad news but was perfectly fit to travel then you wouldn’t be able to make a claim.
if you can explain a bit more about what you want to cover it might help.
normally only death and serious illness are covered.
there are times I’ve been concerned about an elderly person (seriously) and that is just not covered. Fortunately the person survived at that time.0 -

It does however seem that the OP is only concerned that their partner will become ill rather than any more general life concerns0
