It is recorded Signed for, deffo for 100%. The ps3 would have had to be ina alarge box in order to post, she couldnt have got a recorded signed for label and just not posted the parcel? Something that big the RM would take from her after her getting the label?
Its just i seen someone say you can purchase the Recorded signed for labels and post yourself.2x £5 JD Voucher

Recorded is not tracked so even knowing the reference number won't even confirm if item has been posted or not. However how did you pay and was it through a recognised site with any protection?
There is a very old scam that was doing the rounds before people realised how easy it was to spot, and I am rather hoping that hasn't happened here. In that instance a buyer, usually in smalla ds or Loot or something advertised a console and asked for a bank transfer, then did a runner with the money.
Incidentally only special delivery, which would track online would be suitable for an item over £36, as has already been said.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No it was through gumtree, the ad said collection only, but i emailed asking if they could post, she said sure if i pay ontop of the £240. So she gave me her name, bank detaisl and branch.
I paid via internet banking, which was BACS if i remember. I have emailed Gumtree and there willing to help if need beand tell the police any information they need.
Surely though a bank transfer is proof that i apid for the item, and since i dont have a ps3 or any proof she delivered it the police would be more than happy to knock on her door?2x £5 JD Voucher

Signed for labels are available from the post office without paying for them (i have a stack of them on my desk as I type), you can post in a normal post box (assuming the letter/parcel fits) as long as you pay the little bit extra (around 60p IIRC), but you dont then get proof of posting. But if it was a large item like a PS3 I would expect it to be done at a post office and that proof of posting was obtained. Ask her to email you a copy of the proof of posting, the tracking number means nothing really as it does not show the delivery address it just shows if the item has been delivered. But the cynic would say she could have easily posted herself an empty letter via Signed For and using that number for tracking of the item she supposedly sent!!!0

Oh goodness, this is sounding awfully suspect. bank transfers can not be reversed and also the sort code and account number you used might not even tie in with the person who you thought was the seller. Do you have a full UK street address for the seller, does it check out as legit and can you find any record of her living there?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yes i have her Full Uk address and it is her address, i managed to find her parents address and they live round the corner and confrimed it was her address, i found her sister on facebook and she also confirmed the address.
I did add the seller on facebook and talk with her and it really is her name, address and bank details.
So i have proof i sent the payment, and to whom i sent it to but yet i have no ps3.
So maybe she purchased a label and gave me the tracking number and didnt send anything?2x £5 JD Voucher

Go back and ask her how it was sent, exactly what postage method she used.
It is worth noting that standard mail (which includes recorded) is not even deemed lost until 15 working days after posting and if it really was only recorded then she can only claim back £36 if anything.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. yea but she has my £255.00 so she sint gonna be bothered how long it takes for me to receive my parcel if she has even sent it.
So i reckon ive been had.
I have her name, address, email, bank details
i have her parents names, address, phone number.
I rang them and they said they dont know anything, wont even give me her mobile number.
Its starting to depress me, being so close to xmas and expecting a baby in the next 2-3 weeks.

I would be asking her to provide a copy of the proof of posting, this will show the delivery address the item was sent to and should also show the weight of the item. If she fails to provide just politely mention that as "she can no doubt understand" it is looking a bit suspect from your point of view. Then just mention that your only available ext step is to report it to the Police.
This will probably start her thinking you are a bit serious about it all and hopefully she will either find the proof of posting or refund the money.0 -
still no reply.
She obviosuly had no intent on sending the ps3 ( if she even owns one)
so a trip to the police station is in order.
i have her
name
bank details
address.
email.
mobile number
surely she cant get away with fraud.2x £5 JD Voucher
