Not sure if this is in the right place as I've never posted before.
Redbridge Council, despite claiming to get a discount on waterbutts via Blackwall (https://www.evengreener.com) dont, but Thames Water do and you can get the water butt, lid and diverter kit for £24.95 but there is currently a 6-8 week delay due to demand.0 -

Organicly, yes because rainwater is better for the garden.
Morally, yes you are conserving water.

I'm with you on that, wholeheartedly. So far this year (rainy season and all that) I've managed to water my garden every day without once using my outside tap, and my water butt is still pretty much full.
It gives you such a good feeling!! I'd never stopped to consider the cost of buying one (lucky us, we inherited from the house's previous owners! Still would have bought one though).0 -
Can anyone help me please???
Do any of you actually have a 1000l IBC tank?? I need to find out the dimensions of a tank to see if I can get one in the back of an Escort Van (Both on and off its pallet and with or without its cage)
If anyone could post the dimensions I would be so grateful.
TIA.The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -
Just search eBay for them.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

I did and logic would dictate that they would have to be about a cubic meter but I wasn't sure if they were symetrical or not, either way I think I would have to get one delivered because of the wheel arches.
On to plan B then.....................The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0 -

A bit more pricey is wickes that are doing a water butt and stand for £21.99 and £4.99 for diverter.
Assume these are in stock.
Better be as I am off to get one tomorrow

Your logic is impeccable
with its cage it will be roughly, 1.05 x 1.2 x 1.2, but they presumably vary depending on manufacturer so can also be 1.02 x 1.02 x 1.2

Just found this on eBay
Linky Link
It would be fun trying to do up the backnuts on any outlets - One hell of a spanner would be neededor perhaps drop a child in?
I suppose you could hide it by building a "shed" around it though??
Edited to shorten linkThe quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0
