Sofa Bed Recommendations

We have split a room in our house to create a TV/gaming room which also needs to double up as a bedroom.
Can anyone recommend a double sofa bed?
It needs to be no wider than 1m90 but I'm looking for something that is both comfy to sit on and comfy to sleep on.
I have heard so many people say that sofa beds are neither good beds nor sofas, so thought I'd ask the wise people here if they could recommend something.
I'm fine with putting a mattress topper onto it, and ideally it would be something in stock rather than something with a long lead time!
Budget about £1300.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

We have a Clio with storage from sofabedbarn.co.uk and it's very comfortable as a bed and sofa - though generally the cat gets to it first 😅 it's more of a queen than a full double but they do a range of sizes and styles. Delivery was a bit slow as they make to order but it was worth it. Took about 2 months I think.1

If limited on space, when you look at ones that you like, check the length when opened out because some are quite a bit longer than an ordinary bed - the way they open means the top of the "bed" is quite a bit forward of the back of the sofa. This is an example of what I mean. Herne_Bay_2_seater_sofa_bed_side_open.jpg (2200×1237) (bigsave.co.nz)1

It's probably not to everybody's taste, but I've just bought one of these:
https://www.futoncompany.co.uk/shop-by-product/sofa-beds/size/two-seater/croft-2-seater-birch-double-sofa-bed.html
I've had a futon sofa before and found it fairly comfy as both a sofa and a bed, although quite firm as a mattress, obviously. The new one arrived on Friday and I've been sitting on it ever since and find it just as comfy as the previous one.
I was going to go for something more traditionally sofa-like, but found that they were generally quite expensive and the sleeping area was really quite small in most cases - less than a regular double bed, which two grown adults would find a squeeze. That may not be an issue for you, depending on who's going to be using it.
The clincher in my case is that it needed to go in an upstairs room, round a tight corner and I didn't think any of the more traditional sofas would fit. I'm aware there are modular sofas available these days but these all seemed very expensive for sofa bed options, especially as they're often only available online so you would have no chance to try them out before taking the plunge. Again, maybe not a consideration for you.1 -

Access is relatively easy as it's a downstairs room, and length is fine, it's just the width that needs to be no more than 1.90m as otherwise it will get in the way of the doorway too much!
Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'm going to start looking at smaller independent bed stores like the one @Bluebell1000 mentioned as they seem much better value for money than the chain high street brands that dominate the Google searches.
It's good to know futons are more comfortable as my old one was neither a good chair or bed!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

We have a 3 seater Futon Company sofabed which is comfortable as both a bed and a sofa. My OH had it in a studio flat for 3 years and we've also had it as our spare bed.

After lots more research, I ordered from www.sofabed.co.uk/
They manufacture the sofabeds in the UK and are a small independent UK company with excellent reviews. Lots of choice over design and fabrics/colours.
I ordered the Chelsea one and opted for it to be extra wide (so standard double size) and also upgraded to the sprung mattress. It arrived just less than 3 weeks after my order and is really lovely quality, so I absolutely recommend them if anyone is looking for a sofa bed.
They were also much better value than the high street stores and larger online companies.
The folding mechanism on the one from The Futon Company was too big for the space we had, but they also looked really good.
