Why is my dual fuel tariff above the price cap??

EDF updated my online account with the new electricity unit rate (only that needed an EPG adjustment on my fix) several days ago.
The IHD tariff page was still on the old rate this morning at 0700 and between then and now, 1440, the new rate has been sent to the meter and IHD.
The BRIGHT app is still showing the old rate but I am sure that will eventually catch up.
The sky really isn't falling.0 -
Took me 30 seconds and three clicks on the E.ON website to find out what they are doing with my fixed tariff.sienew said:
I don't know about you but I haven't had a single communication at all from my supplier about the price freeze.[Deleted User] said:
Apart from the E7 day/night differential, is there anything that we don’t know?sienew said:
I'm not sure it's too much to ask for people to know what they are being charged for what they use. It's a pretty basic ask imo. Those on the lowest incomes may very well have a fixed amount they can spend on energy and without knowing what they are being charged from their account it's hard to calculate that. Others will get a massive shock when they check their accounts as their estimated usage (in £'s) has skyrocketed, the direct debit payment Sainsburys are asking me for is FAR above what I was paying or should be paying under the price freeze so it'll be a huge shock for many people seeing those incorrect figures.rp1974 said:Well done EDF then,to be fair.
Mainly misunderstandings and moans posted here though,as per.
I mean, most people should be competent to either read a table or do a subtraction.
Just because someone hasn’t come around to each house individually with a rate card on a silver platter, people are treating this like the end of the world.
There is all the info out there but it shouldn't be on consumers to search out their prices, often using websites like MSE with calculators. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the supplier to show the correct prices.
You may want to spend hours doing research and on these forums but 90% of the population will hear about the price rise/freeze on the news and log in to check their prices on their account and get incredibly misleading information from their suppliers.0 -
Eon Nexts website states just before you log in to your online account:
We're updating our prices to reflect the government's Energy Price Guarantee.
Please note that your bills will be correct but the changes are taking longer to reflect in your online account. You don't need to do anything as we are working hard to get this updated.
In late September EON Next sent out letters (via pdf email dated 22nd, to me) setting out the correct new rates and my 'personal' projection.
Those latest numbers tie in with the DD amount shown in my online account that they'll take in October (inc the £67 reduction for the £400 winter Govt contribution).
OP needs to check their correspondence from EOn and not worry unnecessarily. The letter is in the Messages section of the online account, along with monthly statements (if one supplies readings monthly).
I earlier today supplied my reading from this morning which was used for the 30th September billing calculation.

I would ask is why you dont keep an eye on everything you pay monthly for especially with power and preempt any worries. 10 mins a month and all worries are gone. Should teach home budgeting in schools. My dad taught me . Alternatively spend a few mins reading the forum and seeing the info that has been posted a hundred times already with advice.sienew said:

I have checked my messages section and have no communication from them at all with any prices/projections. There is another thread here about Sainsburys and many people haven't had any communication either.Rodders53 said:

In fact, they've already taken a payment for almost £300 payment from me a few days ago (which would have been the October cap amount) which is quite a lot above what I should be paying (based on my usage) under the price guarantee.casjen said:

My point simply was that 99% of the population aren't trawling these forums for information. They log in to their online accounts and look at the prices and predictions displayed there which are incorrect by a significant margin right now.2
