Cancelled Flight

Hi,
   I booked in May for a 2 month trip to Thailand over Christmas and New year with Qatar 19th September received e-mail to say flight cancelled with the options to claim a full refund
or re-book that might incur extra charges I choose the refund.
     Later that day I received an e-mail to say the flight was reinstated I contacted Qatar and explained that I had already asked for a refund and was asked if I wish to continue with the refund or accept the new tickets I went with the refund.
    on the 30 September received only half my money back on querying was told that because they had reinstated flight I was not entitled to a full refund and I also lost my accumulated
Avios flight points can anyone help with what my options might be or have I lost both my money and flight points any help would be much appreciated

    What comms do you have on this.
    for important financial matters I get transcripts and screenshots.

    did they agree to a full refund.?
    do you have proof?
    what do the terms and conditions say?
    have you discussed it with their customer services?

    Do you have the original cancellation e-mail?

    An airline in general can't go back and re-instate a flight that has been cancelled without a full refund (of points and cash in your case).

    If I were you, I'd be aiming for the Customer Services team to discuss further.

       Yes still have original e-mail this is part of e-mail received in the morning

    You can benefit from our flexible rebooking policy and change your travel date or destination free of charge within the same booking class (fare difference may apply), or request a refund for the value of your ticket to the original form of payment with no penalties or refund fees*.

          At this point I applied for a refund

          that afternoon I received another e-mail sayng new tickets had been issued

    at this point I assumed I would get a full refund and my points reinstated

    but the refund turned out to be half and no points

              Thank you both I will have another go with customer services their answer was because it was reinstated within 2 hours I do not qualify for a full refund
