RBS reward current account application

Hi, applied for the above and was only asked to input name/address details then do ID verification and now the account is open 24 hours later and showing in the app. Is this usual with RBS as I wasn’t asked for employment or income details? Unless this is a provisional open but not seen anything to suggest that. Also, does the Reward wallet only appear when you first start receiving reward payments? Thanks

What does it say above the account number and sort code in the app?

Have you made the qualifying transactions, i.e. paid in £1,250 and set up a couple of DDs?

No not yet nor got the debit card yet either. Hence am guessing that might be why Reward Wallet not yet showing.

I applied for RBS Current AC got immediate rejection by email but ask me to appeal to AVUreview. I did and I got reply to contact Specialist account opening team on 0800 0157 363.
I search that number, no match in the UK. So I contact CS on 0345 724 2424. They do not know that number. Does anyone know whether it is worthy to call back or it is scammer?

Was your original application to RBS in response to an unsolicited email or text? If so I'd be wary of any further contact.

Yes. It is. In fact it addresses me with my correct name. I have also seen there is AVUreview previously in this MSE. It seems some of RBS/NatWest CS do not know about it.
  • Is this right? You've received an unsolicited email saying "click here to get an RBS Account", you've filled out a (no doubt detailed) form with lots of personal details and now they need you to ring them up and discuss it further?

I've no doubt that there is an RBS Account (or possibly Application) Verification Unit, what doesn't seem to be clear is that the number you've been given connects to them. RBS CS don't know of it, a Google search shows nothing.

Don't call that number. Ring CS using the number on your card or from the website. If they need you to talk to anyone else then they will connect you.

I probably do not explain it well. What I mean here is that I applied RBS account so it is something to do with my original application. So it is in response to my original application for RBS select account.
