Multiple missed payments to Vodafone for unrecognised phone number

I am tearing my hair out with this. My credit score used to be excellent, now it is 'low' beacuse of a series of missed payments to vodafone for a phone number I do not recognise.
I can't get anyone on at Vodafone to discuss this with me on the phone because of security, I have been into a vodafone store and they have identified the account in my name, but can't give me any more details about it.
It started last year and in the last 7 days my credit scopre has dipped 54 points according to credit Karma.
Has anyone expereinced anything like this? I'd really like to know a good place to start.
thanks for any advice/pointers

Well you can ignore your score as it's nothing more than a meaningless marketing gimmick. The missed payments, however, are a cause for concern. It won't be any good speaking to the CRAs, they can only report on the data that's given to them by lenders - you do need to speak to Vodafone.Have you tried speaking to their Fraud team, as opposed to a general Customer Services person?

You would need to complain formally to Vodafone if the fraud team won't / can't help and potentially escalate to the Ombudsman
As above though ignore the gimmick score, nobody but you ever sees it and it's never used in lending decisions1 -
Thank you both. I have sent a fraud report now and hopefully I can get to the bottom of this. Have a lovely weeekend.0
