    BG really aren't that smart.  It is bad enough that they only do (roughly) 3 monthly billing, but then cancel the whole previous 9 months bills & re-bill for the full year.  That was August, who knows what kind of a mess they will make for the September/October increase.

    @Soot2006 it is bizarre!
    The BG applied reading is lower than my reading, so the calc. for consumption they apply assumes my meter has  'gone round the clock'.  Now is the second month this has happened - all since they switched my account to 'smart read' mode.  So I can't log on and record a reading myself - because the account is set up for 'smart meter readings'; I can't use their form; BG aren't polling my meter but are slapping on dodgy readings and I now have the pleasure of hooking up with CS at the end of the month to put it right.

    Apparently it is all going to be sorted .....sometime.
    Is it definitely not sending any readings because my SMETS1 seems to be sending readings from about 2 or 3 weeks ago and my account had gone into smart mode but I can't see any readings to check this out, I have taken readings but haven't sent them as I don't want to stuff anything up.   My display thing is also working now and it wasn't before

    I checked on Citizens Advice meter page and put in my meter no. and that said it was smart and sending readings so I guess it must be.   There is very little information on the BG website and BG never bothered to tell me my meter was smart now I just found out myself when I tried to submit readings and couldn't so investigated further.  I also seem to have lost E7 but can't confirm that unless I spend ages with BG, I'm glad about that though as I wanted to come off it.

    Hi @CSH1 - I wouldn't feel too shy about providing meter reads to BG if you want to. From my experience BG can stuff it up all on their own.
