DVLA Driving licence delays ??? Are things back to normal yet ?

I am needing to update my driving licence due to getting married so HAVE  to send via post as not able to do that online.
Does anyone know if the massive delays have eased now please ??
I have been putting it off as don`t want to be without a licence card for months !!!

Surprised anyone carries one or needs it these days. Simple code from the DVLA enables hire places and insurance etc. to see
your data and it contains info like points that your licence does not.

Last one I heard about took 9 days but that was between xmas and new year 9 months ago, so add some delay there.

Can you not take it to the post office. Or have they stopped doing it.
Did mine in lockdown and took 6 working days.

Signing up to betting website, some require a photo ID.

I didn't request an update to my driving licence, but last week I requested an address update to my V5C.

It was all done and returned within a week (though it could of course be a different section dealing with licences).
