Good Energy October 30% more than average increase?

  • In reply to earlier comment, I moved to Green Energy because they are truly 'green', and I didn't mind paying a bit more for that. HOWEVER the price mark up has now increased so much (30% higher than competitors) that I just can't justify it.

It is a shame because surely green energy is the way forwards, but I can't afford to pay an extra £1200 on what most other (price capped) firms are offering post October.
I'm also with Green Energy. We don't yet know for sure what their prices will be. Wish they would hurry up and confirm!

Don't you mean that you moved to Good Energy because they are truly green? If so, see if Green Energy UK will take you as it is looking likely that they will be following EPG rates & they are also truly green.

Sorry yes, typo! Yes I will take a look.
  • They have a really strange way of explaining it on their website-  pointing out that they aren't covered by the cap but also saying that everyone gets the 17p/4.2p discounts.
Why are they not covered by the cap?
I am with them for my FIT

You have can have a supply contract with any Ofgem licensed supplier. FIT contracts are separate from a supply contract, and if you switch suppliers they can be left with the original FIT payer.

It looks like you will have to 'phone them atm rather than move via online - same as EDF & Octopus.
