Is it time for me to upgrade? I'm still on iPhone 8.
I'm all about Moneysaving and I have held on to my iPhone 8 for years. I like how Apple works. However, it runs out of charge in 4 hours, and twice was very reluctant to charge up when the battery has elapsed. Otherwise it works great. I use it extensively for posting photos and videos on social media, funny enough, at the moment, I make calls on it the least and I have a cheap PAYG deal on it from Asda. Is it time it upgrade to another iPhone & if you take photos/video, which one would you say is the best? If you've upgraded, did you find the larger handset meant you had to replace your existing phone holders? Thank you!!

If you are otherwise happy with the phone, then why not just replace the battery? No free lunch, and no free laptop3

iPhone 8 onwards wireless charges, If its an issue with the charging port that would resolve it.

Either replace the battery and you will get at least another two years use out of it, or upgrade to the best model you can afford.
Battery replacement is £69 from Apple.2 -

In terms of iOS support this year iOS 16 dropped support for anything older than iPhone 8. But iOS 15 still worked on iPhone 5S, 6 6S, 7 and 7S. So its likely that iPhone 8 will still get iOS 17 as they dropped so many models this year. But who knows about 18.
Replacement battery if everything else still works makes sense though, you'll probably get two more years out of the phone for £49.3 -

The iPhone 8 is the oldest supported iPhone for the latest update so may not get the next version of iOS
https://www.apple.com/uk/ios/ios-16/ (But that will be 2023, by then you'll have had at least another year of use out off your phone!)

I’m still using an iPhone 7 running IOS 15.7 which I bought last year. Perfectly adequate for everyday calls, emails and such. Not into streaming so can’t comment as far as that goes.
I’d previously been using a 5 and upgraded to an 11 but that wouldn’t connect to the car for hands-free use; seems the latest compatible iPhones are the 7plus or SE, very frustrating.0
