Does anyone realize there is only ONE watch to win? If you keep posting answers, you are only hurting the rest of us! You are creating a larger pool of contestants with every answer you post. You should all be disqualified.
You don't know how this forum works! The same argument can be made about all competitions posted here.
Ohhhh can you mansplain to me how this works?? You know Bremont knows about this forum right? I'm playing their game to win. Why are you??
I've been down that road (arguing against giving answers on a public forum) earlier in the forum and you're wasting your time.

The simple fact is that Bremont have messed up here. This competition is ridiculous and a marketing failure. By making the competition unbelievably difficult and arguably no fun in the slightest, they are completely alienating fans and instead appealing to a very select group of individuals who simply like to enter competitions for fun, have no connection to the Bremont brand and really couldn't care less about the watch or the prize being from Bremont as a company. It is simply the joy of winning.

Will Bremont win any more customers from this competition? No. Have they improved brand awareness substantially? No. Have they spent a big chunk of cash on making a bespoke comp mini-website for very little gain? Absolutely.

Competitions (for a marketing gain) should appeal to a mass-audience and be fun and engaging. This is neither.
Well I truly hope no one like you wins and it goes to someone who isn't trash talking Bremont and will actually appreciate playing their game and winning because they deserve it.
Thanks very much. Not trash talking Bremont - I actually have one of their watches and regularly visit their store. I'm simply stating that the prize(s) probably won't go to a fan of Bremont, because they've made the competition very hard and hence why we're all here discussing it.

Since coming across the competition I have become a fan of Bremont and have learnt so much about the company along the way, following their socials etc. To be able to win a quality watch, which I would not be able to ordinerally afford or justify the cost due to other more important expences and financial contraints would be a lovely. If I didn't win I would still be happy with my cheaper more affordable watch from Argos.

With the chance of winning a tour of The Wing or attending a Watchmaking Masterclass that would be a bonus in learning more about the company.

So @Koozie and @greenteacups if someone won the top prize, who didn't contribute to this forum, this post and got their answers from this forum or any other site where the answers can be found, and you didn't, but instead you won one of the other prizes on offer, would you be happy with that or would you still complain.
Obviously you are both here for a reason, and that reason is most probably because you could not answer one of the questions, which one of the other forum members could. The whole idea of this forum is to help each other and thank others for their help, especially if you win.

Good luck with the competition and hope to see you posting what you have won in the "I won" section, (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/categories/i-won-i-won-i-won), thanking those members from this thread who supplied the answers to the questions you were stuck on.

very well said Rich - my thoughts exactly.

Maybe a discussion on the morals and merits of contributing and sharing to win prizes and/or restricting winners to entitled elites should be better done on the Compers Chat Corner Forum? Should we start a thread?
  • The Bremont codebreaker competition has been challenging, in fact as one who has entered some previous competitions, the questions on this have been some of the hardest I have seen. To assist each other in the hope that one person wins is what it is all about. I am sure Bremont are not expecting many to crack the code.
