Megabus is a privately run long distance company and you have been told already that concessionary or free fares are for local buses only.
Hi if its local only then how are those travellers in those links travelling out of local long distances via bus?

That's surprising as I'm fairly sure that you can use the concession card in Scotland.
Okay just confirm it can be used in wales and scotland not just england?

Local doesn’t mean local to you, it means local to the area that you’re in at the time. So theoretically you could get local buses between towns and just keep changing which will take a ridiculous amount of time but it’s possible if you avoid peak hours.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That's good. What about England passes applied through the Transport for West Midlands site and from there the passes are issued by West Midlands Combined Authority?

The England Concessionary Travel Pass is available to eligible disabled people and to people over State Pension Age. Some local authorities have their own arrangements which exceed the ENCTS pass. We have seen that in the West Midlands this includes access to some train and tram services. In Merseyside, people aged 60 and over can have a pass for off-peak use of buses, trains and ferries in the Liverpool City Region. This is not valid for buses outside that region. When the holder reaches State Pension Age it is augmented to include the ENCTS validity for all local buses in England. A similar thing happens in Greater London. Residents at the age of 60 can apply for an Oyster 60+ card which gives travel rights in Greater London on buses trains tubes etc. When the holder reaches State Pension age they can have a Freedom Pass which adds validity for all local buses in England. My Lancashire pass only covers local buses in England, but if I lived in Blackpool it would include the trams!
