PAC transfer to Lyca - When does it complete?
Signed up recently for the "MSE 2" deal with Lyca as the price seemed decent. I'm not totally sure about the Lyca website which was glitchy during the purchase. Initially, it took several attempts to get the Basket to show the deal and finally after moving through the Order process, it showing a "transaction failed". Without me trying again, I later got an e-mail confirmation of signing up. Received the SIM card and activated it. I was happy with the Welcome letter which had a lot of information and far better presentation than their website. The SIM was working with the temporary new number. However, I'm trying to transfer my actual number over to the new Lyca SIM.
How was the porting in process for others? I had a very smooth transfer in the past when moving from one network to another.
I got a PAC code from my old provider and input the required details to port in the number over to the Lyca SIM and selected a Transfer Day.
Today, on the chosen Transfer Day, my old phone (old network) has stopped working, but my new Lyca SIM (the new network) is also inactive. It actually became inactive on the day I completed their online Transfer form (last week) meaning it doesn't seem to connect to the Lyca (O2) network thus one cannot make or receive calls on it even with the new number that came with it.
Any suggestions on how long the PAC transfer takes to complete?
Right now, my old phone (old network) has stopped working. It was working up until today which is the Transfer day. The new Lyca SIM has not yet "reactivated" with my number yet and it's almost the end of the day.
I'm asking about this because previous PAC transfers have been relatively seamless, so it's worried me a little bit.

Update*
Finally it started working by 7:36PM. I was a bit worried there since the downtime on both the old and new network has never been this long.
Can confirm that Lyca works thankfully. Got the MSE 2 deal.0 -
I’ve just completed the online porting form to keep my old number and pressed enter and all I’m getting is a rotating Lyca cube. It’s been doing that for 5 minutesDoes that mean my transfer is on-going or is stuck?0

My porting went through fairly quickly but at first I was unable to receive calls or texts. I called their helpline...and eventually they fixed that. They say to allow 2 working days for the porting over the number to complete...which is a long time so try to do this early in the week or you could go without your old number for 4 days. Too long.
Lyca is not so slick as the big boys...you have to activate your sim with a pin number the first time and you also have to manually enter your PAC code on their online form to keep your old number but I would say try Lyca for certain things...cheap calls maybe, as a second line. So far I am uneasy on relying on it for everything...largely due to the poor 02 network in parts of the UK at the moment but I am happy to give it more time, especially for 5p a month!0 -
"Lyca is not so slick as the big boys...you have to activate your sim with a pin number the first time and you also have to manually enter your PAC code on their online form to keep your old number"The first part I would guess is a security feature, and prevents someone getting the wrong sim/package. Having used lyca and lebara this week I have found lyca much smoother personally. The second part I don't understand how you could port without having to "manually enter your pac", unless you mean it won't copy and paste from your sns?0
