EonNext £400 DD

For some reason I thought maybe the £67 would be deducted of the monthly bills but my DD has been reduced from £85 to £18. I am in some good credit but I'm all electric and that credit will soon be gone by end of winter or nearly gone at least by paying a DD of £18 and going by my estimates of possible usage in winter and from what my monthly bills were last winter. So maybe I should increase it back up as want my credit to go on beyond winter and to be there for well into the next Yr too? Ideally.

Also, can anyone tell me how to read E7 smart meters? As mine is new but not sent its first reading. They installed it on 16th Aug and said it will send readings on the 16th so forth. But it hasn't sent its first one. Years back, they wouldn't install a smart as said the signals wouldn't be good enough so looks like that might still be the case and I'd still need to give manual readings. It has A and B buttons and is showing my rate 1 display automatically but I'm not sure what to press to get my rate 4 showing. I did email eon but nothing back yet and guess they very busy with lots of emails etc Their website says press the blue button but I'm sure mine has no blue button unless I'm colour blind.

  • Your energy account will still be credited by £85 each month, it's just that the government is paying £66 of it for you.
  • Oh I see. That's good then. Thanks for clarifying.

Can you tell us the model of the smart meter, or post a photo? We can look up the instructions for you.

  • Hi. That's it.
  • To take two rate meter readings from your Landis and Gyr SMETS2 electricity meter:

    • Press the green A button until you see ‘Rate 01 Act Imp’ – this is your first reading
    • Press and hold the grey B button for 5 seconds, and then press the green A button until you see ‘Rate 02 Act Imp’ – this is your second reading.

It looks like your meter reading was 85 when this photo was taken.

Do you also have an in house display unit (IHD). This also has the reading which should be accessible after pressing a button or two.

Your online account should also show the final reading on your old meter and you should have a bill up to this date.

Edit. Following Dolor’s post I now see you said you are on E7 so you do need 2 readings which I believe will also be shown on you IHD
  • I've had a look on my IHD a few times but can't find the readings. Just my tarrif and £/KWH usage. I will take another look later when home in case I missed it.

My online account shows no meter readings. I clicked on meter reading history and nothing. I'd have thought my previous ones would be there from my old meter but seems not, unless they've moved it to another section.

It depends on your supplier, but many will not show you meter readings when you have a smart meter, they just show you the data collected from your smart meter each day, but not the meter index readings.
