Just received a letter to advise all my accounts will be closed between 24/11 and 24/12.
Will need to juggle my DDs now to cover Natwest, Lloyds club and Santander. Will probably need to sacrifice 1% cashback for Council Tax and Virgin broadband.

Have decided to downgrade my Natwest Reward leaving me with just Santander and Club Lloyds so I should be fine.
However, wife will now only have one DD (Ecology) for her Lloyds. Will try to move my Virgin Broadband DD to her Club Lloyds.0 -
Why does she bother with interest from Club Lloyds? There are plenty of easy access accounts paying better interest than CL, and you don't need any DDs for those.Speculator said:

Well it ticks a box.
Crappy that it's gone as if I needed anything for easy D/Ds then it was a simple option.
But it was always a bit of a nuisance account to me.
I personally don't have any accounts where I need it any more. Santander are loaded with enough D/Ds getting cashback on their lite account.
Club Lloyds I just run the 1500 through to avoid the charge. They don't pay anything special in terms of interest so I don't have money with them beyond £1 per account. I can see the end of the cinema tickets before long which I would take a lot worse than this.
Now if banks started doing some real good deals requiring DDs then maybe I'd be more disappointed but hey ho.0 -
You wont be disappointed then.Speculator said:

Depending on the Batman film that is, but I'll assume the most latest one. I was pleasantly surprised. Not a Robert Pattinson fan. In fact when I saw he was cast as Batman my eyes rolled in the back of my head.
But after the film I had to hold my hands up. I totally enjoyed it. He played the role very well.1 -
The CL only requires DDs for interest, so you don't need them for your OH's £10. The £1500 pm avoids the £3 charge, but it's not related to the DDs. You get the mags/cinema tickets anyway.Speculator said:

Cheers for that. Thought the DD was required to avoid the charge.soulsaver said:

I watch the movies on Ratuken now. Stopped going to the cinema after Cineworld stopped issuing the free tickets which I used to combined with Meerkats. (about £1 for two full price tickets)0 -
But you only need DDs if you want interest. Which doesn't seem to play a role.Speculator said:

As an aside, you also don't need to maintain a Club Lloyds for the CL RS. You just need to have the CL when you apply for the CL RS. Once the CL RS is open, you can downgrade the CL. But yes, if you want the cinema tickets, you need to have a CL (no DDs).1 -
I think they get it now, especially since they gave thanks to soulsaver 30mins before your post saying they weren't aware of it (but not obviously are).
At least if nothing else, they'll be doubly aware now
