Under Floor Heating pump settings

Hello,

My UFH has this pump: Wilo-Yonos PARA RS 25/6-RKA (see photo). It's set exactly as the photo, but the problem is that I don't know if it was set like this by the installer or by the previous owner of the flat. Some Googling made it clear that it's set to the correct side for UFH (Constant differential pressure), but who knows if the maximum speed is correct. It's a 43 sq/m flat with UFH in every room. I found some manuals online but it's all gibberish to me.

Thanks for helping me with this. I don't want to be wasting energy and money if my heating is set incorrectly.

Can anyone help me with this?
  • My understanding is as follows, but I'm not an expert so if anyone thinks I've got this wrong, please correct me....

    1. The pump circulates hot water from your boiler / thermal store around the underfloor heating pipes, so it leaves warm and comes back cooler

    2. If you don't have it set to pump the water around quick enough, the last bit of the underfloor hetaing circuit(s) won't get hot enough because the water will have cooled down before it gets there. So too slow is definitely a problem.

    3. Too fast is less of an issue. You will wear the pump out quicker and the pump itself will use more energy but in the general scale of things as long as the pump is roughly the right size that's not a big deal.

So the bottom line is I don't think it's too critical.
