Free PAYG SIM?

Are there any free PAYG SIMs available that include data and don't require topping up to use it?

I ask this because on Three I'm having a problem with the signal and only getting 3G. Also, websites sometimes don't load. So if I had another network SIM to test, I could find out if its a fault with the phone or a network problem.

You could order a free SIM from someone like Lebara. They use the Vodafone network. There is an option to order it without a Plan.

Does a free Lebara sim require topping up before the sim is activated? I had a look at the website, but didn't see any mention of this.

I don't think you'll find a network giving you a free SIM with some data allowance on it - for free?
Can't you find someone using another network who is prepared to let you try their SIM in your phone? They'd have to be using a compatible size SIM, or you'd need an adapter if they use a smaller SIM.

Actually, I don't think I'll need any data on the SIM because as long as it can get a signal then I'll know if my phone is faulty if it can't get a consistant 4G signal.

I do not believe so. It can be ordered without having to buy a product.

A quick Google search for "How to Activate a Lebara SIM" suggests it gets activated by popping it in. So you could pop it into a phone and check the signal strength.

Has rwg gone back to free? They started charging £5.

    I don't think so.

Looking at the current pages it looks like the £5 and £15 (one off) are still being offered. The only free SIM available is ordered and then needs to be topped up as a normal PAYG.

Do you have the same issues when connected to WiFi?
Another thought is you could try to get a free sim from rwg or someone else and get someone to call it and see if you get 4g reception. Otherwise it is probably worth a fiver to try rwg data.
