As an aside, are you on a smart meter?

If not, do you give regular meter readings?

Is your DD set at the correct level to accurately reflect your usage?

Are you currently in debit or credit?
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 3.24% of current retirement "pot" (as at end December 2025)

  • Well you thought you had 😉

If you look now, at your bills since, do they all say Next Flex?

yes looking back through them now they all say net flex, but i obviously didnt check the tariff.  I've got the date and time of the call the V11 was agreed and i've asked for a copy of the recording which will prove their incompetence.  I've had several more messages on twitter since posting so i'm not alone, more and more saying exactly the same thing.  agreed on phoneto fix on V11 and they haven't applied it.

i'm on a smart metre and nearly £1k in credit
  • I had a look online for this elusive V11 tariff but could not find it listed at all on Eon site hmmm.  It was sold out very quickly according to:

    https://www.theguardian.com/money/2022/mar/01/energy-bills-eon-one-year-fix-money-saving-expert-martin-lewis

E.ON’s Next Online V11 tariff promised prices fixed for a year, set at the same level as Ofgem’s new capped rate......Launched in mid-February, and only available to existing E.on customers, the deal had largely gone unnoticed until the MoneySavingExpert founder, Martin Lewis, highlighted the tariff on Monday.  Within hours it was pulled from sale by E.ON, such was the demand from people desperate to shield themselves from further energy price increases.

(I assume the date was 28th February as the date of this Guardian article is Tue 1st March).  I don't claim that The Guardian has its facts correct - I shall let others make their own mind up.

So it would appear that the CS agent that the OP spoke to on 1st March presumably had no authority to sanction the OP request to move to the v11 rate if this article is to be taken as gospel.

Has it cost the OP any money between 1st March and now?  Probably not as it appears the v11 rate was set at the April 2022 Next Flex cap that the OP actually moved to on 1st April.  If the rates were the same for these two tariffs the extra DD amount is down to how much energy the OP used/was using/likely to use and what the state of their account was at that time. So had you known you were going to Next Flex in April it is quite possible that you would have still gone to a monthly DD of £366.

Assuming that the v11 rates are below the October EPG price cap, then yes I can understand the OP in a fume about this as this will cost them more (Not sure how much due to loads of variables at play).

To clarify with the OP re the £1k credit situation, I know you are on a smart meter but does your last statement reflect that the readings used on these statements are Estimated readings, Customer Readings or Smart Readings (as mine do)

Have you got any messages from E.ON?  Or an email telling you the terms of your new tariff?  Or an acknowledgement that you have switched?

I know that if I'd thought I had signed up for a contract over the phone, I would look for some sort of written confirmation somewhere.
naively i disnt check it, as the amounts matched up i just assumed it was right as agreed over the phone.  I trusted them but clearly someone their end has messed up.  I've got the date/time of phone call and all calls are recorded so i've asked for a copy of the recording to prove they've messed up.
Looks like incompetence on both sides, EON for not putting you on the tariff (if it was available on the date you called up) & you for not checking it was done for the last 7 months

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6336975/eon-next-online-v11-fixed-1-year-at-apr-22-rates/p1

Eon Next did agree to many over the phone to delay the tariffs at April 22 rates released in late Feb and early March to not start til April 2022.

I know this for a fact as when I called them myself in March I delayed the two year fixed deal at April 22 cap rates until 1st April.

The difference is Eon did what they said they would do on my phone call and I checked as soon as the website was back up properly after April 1st.

There's the important part.  Check, and if it's wrong get it sorted at the time.
