I would question the expenses amounts being entered, if they happen to fall within a monthly assessment period. Are expenses being entered that relate to an ongoing interest, rather than a type of employment ?  Is the website purely about obtaining self-employed work ?  The expenses have to solely relate to obtaining the self-employment income.

As others have stated, this does not appear to be work that is really to earn money to pay household bills, if genuine expenses actually mean a loss is experienced.
The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.

He isn't losing money, it's just what can be claimed as an allowable expense for tax purposes etc.
That's right, my legally allowable expenses deducted from my income/turnover equals net profit or loss.  At the moment it would be a loss.  My question was could that loss be deducted from my state pension when calculating my UC assessment.  By the looks of it ... no!

You are correct, no they can't.
