NatWest First Party Fraud Restrictions - Please HELP!

Even if we did have, which we don't, all the details and facts of what happened and what didn't happen, I am afraid there is nothing anyone on this Forum can do to speed up the investigations that seem to be underway. You'll have to wait for Natwest's conclusions.tonyga421 said:I still require advice and support though.0 -
This thread needs to be treated with considerable caution.
Reposting someone else's wording from a couple of months ago is highly suspicious.
Offering compensation four days into an investigation is pretty much unheard of.
Loads of other inconsistencies.
Likely that the whole thread will be deleted in the not too distant future.
With apologies to Simon Armitage....

Update: considering I came here for support and advice; now that I have been labelled 'handle for extreme caution' with 'other inconstancies'. I am leaving the forum.
Thank you for all the support in this safe space. I will struggle on and wait.0 -
As if the bank would’ve told the OP(s) to email the first party fraud team, tipping the customers off that they are subject to a first party fraud investigation…2

No one expects you to live on fresh air, if an account is frozen for any reason you are still able to withdraw salary/wages/benefits from a branch. You will need to provide ID and proof the funds you want actually are wages/salary/benefits, (pay slip or letter showing benefit entitlement) and the bank will let you withdraw those funds whilst the investigation is ongoing..tonyga421 said:

The bank can & will take as long as the investigation takes. Complaints etc will not speed it up. In fact may make it slower, as the teams will have to talk to each other, meaning someone is not investigation the reason for the account suspension.
So in the end you will need to sit back & wait till they complete their process. Which is something they are allowed & have to do if they feel something does not look right. Or they may face a massive fine from the regulator.
Branch staff will not be able to do anything. So making a fuss in a branch is only going to make matters worse. May even lead to removal of account if staff feel intimidated by it.
TBH, I'm amazed you got offered anything after 4 days. Normally you are looking at a couple of weeks. Even then complaints will not give anything as it is something banks have to do.
7 days to no access to wages to pay for groceries, travel to work or pay bills.
I haven't done anything wrong, in fact I have tried to positively engage with the Bank to find out what's wrong and what i can do to resolve it.
I wouldn't mind if it took 7 weeks, but to correspond only via email (even though the matter is fraud related) and then not to respond to emails is completely disgusting and illogical.0 -
If the Facebook group's anything to go by (there are a lot of cases of this in there), that's Natwest for you.mab3000 said:As if the bank would’ve told the OP(s) to email the first party fraud team, tipping the customers off that they are subject to a first party fraud investigation…
Also I don't know whether it's coincidence or they're actually jokers but when they finally release your funds back to you, they send it from an account named "SUSP FD". Apparently this means "suspense forward" but anyone would easily assume "suspected fraud".0 -
Sorry what is does an Original Poster mean?flo22 said:
