You haven't 'got away with' anything and were not in the wrong. The Service Station would cancel it anyway if a person complains that they were penalised for sleeping.
A parking firm can take ages to send a PCN out. They are not restricted to some 14 day rule in the POFA if they aren't using that law.
Are you the registered keeper or do you lease the car?
If you are the keeper, check your logbook address is up to date - double check now. PCNs go to the v5c address.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I don't intend to pay, I just hope they let it slip and I avoid the hassle.1 -
I too drove through the drop off zone without stopping. The brutal filter blocks on the roundabout funnel you in with no opportunity to abort when you realise you are in the wrong lane. After fruitlessly searching for definitive guidance about grace period (or not ) and seeing from other posts how unclear/unfair an appeals process might be I decided it was worth £5 to avoid the hassle. I do think, however, that rules and instructions and guidance ought to be readily available online to take the stress out of this aspect of the already stressful business of getting to your flight1

Do i have any comeback if I have paid the £5?
(I drove through 6 times because they closed the short stay car park because it was full. I decided to pay £30 instead of getting £600 of PCNs)0 -

They now apply a one minute 30 seconds grace period - but ring them and check on 0345 050 7080 option 4 and speak to Rachael (or others) - i did this as just got off a nine our flight this morning and missed the massive "exit turn".....i did the "lightening lane" in 1minute 14 seconds apparently...so no charge1
