Anyone else having problems with Tesco groceries delivery?

My groceries were due between 1300-1400. It is 1505 now and no sign of them! I’ve tried contacting them via Snapchat (the only avenue open to me as I’m deaf) but they have not responded there either. Anyone else having problems today?

Do you use Twitter? You can usually get a response on there. Also if you order online you may be able to see when the order is due in your online account

Not on Twitter. Online it says the order is delivered which it definitely isn’t. Been waiting for a response on Snapchat chat for an hour. Nothing. Directed to Snapchat by Tesco but it’s useless if they don’t respond. 😢

OK, WhatsApp is another option you can contact Tesco on 0800 917 7403.

It's relatively simple to sign up to Twitter or Whatsapp, even if you haven't used them before.

Do you have regular Tesco deliveries, so they know where you are?

Do you know which store the deliveries come from, I can try and find out whether there are any problems at that specific store

I do have regular deliveries and this is the second time that they have let me down in the last couple of months. Last time it was a broken down van. They’ve finally responded on Snapchat 75 minutes after I contacted them and said they had attempted delivery but there had been no reply. This is totally untrue as I’ve been keeping an eye out for them since 1245 (they sometimes arrive early) and I can prove it too as I have a doorbell webcam and there has been no one approach my drive or door since the postman earlier today. I may be in my late sixties but I’m not stupid!

Thanks for your help but I think I may switch to another shop in future for my deliveries.

PS it is WhatsApp I’ve been using not Snapchat! It’s new to me and I got the name wrong. 🙄

After saying it was my fault and I didn’t answer the door for the delivery Tesco have just emailed me:

We're contacting you with an update about your Tesco grocery order.

We're sorry to advise that your driver is running late due to a van breakdown. We expect your order to be with you by 21:25.

    Unbelievable!

Just a final update. I waited up until midnight. Groceries never arrived. My brother contacted them via Twitter the following day and they cancelled the order and action a refund.  They also are issuing a £10 goodwill voucher to use against my next shop. Let’s hope that turns up!

I live in a sheltered housing scheme, residents are getting the hang of online shopping, Tesco has changed to a delivery savers to start from 3pm and into the evening.  This is unhelpful to many elderly folk who have their tea at 5pm, then their carer helps them shower and get into bed.  They are being deprived of their freedom to shop at a reasonable time for themselves, as they can't afford the extra money to have their shopping delivered early in the day.  Are any other people effected financially or inconvenienced by the changes Tesco's have made?
