Advice on Motorway service car park fine

Hi All, I need some advice regarding Motorway service car park fine.

The other day I was returning from Great Malvern, I stopped by BP service station to take some rest.

I got parking fine of £100 for staying 40 mins. I didn’t see any parking charge sign board as I thought its allowed to park at motorway services free for two hours, as they are required to by law.

I have now parked there several times and I am concerned I will be getting more parking letters through the door.

Is it worth appealing? Do you know if anyone has won the appeal or fine revoked?

    You are allowed 2 hours if at a motorway service station. What station was this?
    It's not a 'fine', it's a parking charge notice.

    More details as you said Motorway service station but you parked up at the BP Service.Did you park up by the petrol pumps/ garage.
    Where was it?

    Was it specifically a motorway service station, or just a BP service station?
    Were you legally parked at the site?
    'Great Malvern' doesn't really help us, as it's not on any motorway.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Looking at Street view it appears tho have parking on the side where the lorry's fill up.For signage you need to go back and have a look at placing etc ,then go to Parking board.
