Devon to Turkey by car - has anyone driven there before?

I had gastric surgery in this country and was advised not to drive for a month and only then when I felt comfortable doing an emergency stop so do not rely on your friend co driving on the way home. I would probably have been able to fly after a week but would not have coped with carrying luggage or waiting in line for long in airports.1
