EE - Landline and Broadband problem

Not sure what else to do if anything. My Broadband has started cutting out when the phone rings. I know this as my Alexa Dot, that I listen to the radio with stops working during calls and then reconnects a few minutes later. This has only been happening for just over a week. The old phone had the message “check line”, there has been no tone when lifting the receiver for ages. I bought new phones last week, no difference, I took the base plate off the main box, plugged the phone in to the test socket, tone dial worked, replaced base plate and used the main box, in the hall, for the main phone charger, with spare in living room, so no real hardship. This obviously is working, but not completely. My question is, if I call EE will they charge me as it might be more an internal rather than external fault, seeing as there is a usable connection of some kind? I also purchased a new ASL/Phone connector. Is there a fixed fee if the fault is deemed wholly indoors?

If the socket in the front room is an extension and the issue clears itself up on the master (which I presume from your post is in the hall) when you take the bottom of the master socket off, then that's an issue on your side of the phone socket and if Openreach get involved, you will almost certainly be charged as that is not their responsibility to maintain. All taking the bottom panel off does is disconnect the extensions. If the fault clears up on the test socket it's an extension issue, if it continues its a fault to raise with your provider.1
