Tui delay

Im after advice before i proceed if possible.

We was due to fly from manchester 17/09 to izmir, we checked in got to departure lounge it was delayed in the end they called us to departure gate to be told flight is not going ahead, however there is a plane at birmingham operated by wamos that can take us on 18/09 so they put us up in a hotel and got us all a coach down in the morning. How ever that plane was then split into 2 but instead of wamos it was now tui on planes, as it turns out them planes was delayed nearly 4 hours due to not being able to be fueled and no staff to load baggage. I received an email from tui this morning with details saying 27h5m delay to claim of my travel insurance. Is this classed as one delay or 2 and is it just a case of claiming through their website i also payed for selected seats to can i claim that back.

If the original Manchester flight was cancelled then the airline is liable to pay you compensation for that, unless it was caused by extraordinary circumstances outside their control.

If the replacement flight from Birmingham arrived more than three hours later than scheduled, then that's a separate compensation claim from that airline, again if within their control, which it sounds like it was.

The plane we was supposed to be on had a technical issue where ever the plane was so couldnt get to manchester. The ones in birmingham we was told issues due to fueling/ loading.
