Own Domain with Gmail

A possible compromise is to set up your domain email to forward to your Gmail so you get all your emails in Gmail but if you reply it will come from Gmail.
Yes, I can 'spoof' it, but the result is not great. It would be useful if I was migrating to another provider/address, but it's not a long term solution.
I will stick with what I have.
The Gmail part is free my only cost is the domain name and 1 mailbox although a lot of domain hosts have free mailboxes.1 -
