Phillipson Hardwick Advisory - PPI Tax Refund

I have now received two emails from "Phillipson Hardwick Advisory" stating I could be owed some tax from my PPI claim.
I appreciate there are lots of this type of post within this forum, however I can seem to find a answer to what I'm looking for and wondered if someone can give me some advice on whether this is legit company or if there would be another way of looking into this.
Below are both emails:
Thanks in advance

"Dear xxxxx,
I am writing to inform you that you may be due an extra refund of £x,xxx.xx on top of the payout you received for your PPI.
I am a Senior Auditor at Phillipson Hardwick Advisory, a registered tax agent that specialises in recovering the tax wrongly deducted from PPI compensation. We have a 92% success rate.
Before paying your compensation to you, your lender deducted tax from the compensatory interest element and paid this directly to HMRC.
Most people are unaware that in 2016 the government launched a new Personal Savings Allowance enabling you to recover up to 100% of this back.
To make things easy, we have set up a simple to use web application. It only takes two-minutes to find out for free if you are eligible, and the whole process is done online.
You can click the blue button below to start now."

Other customers that have utilised our platform are receiving an average of £xxx.xx but every claim is unique, with one customer recently receiving £x,xxx.xx.

"Dear xxxxx,
I am checking to see whether you contacted HMRC directly to claim your extra PPI refund?
You should have received an email from my colleague, Tracy Keegan, offering access to our fast-track form to process this on your behalf. I can see that you have not yet used the service.

Irrespective of whether they are legitimate or not why wouldn't you simply claim any tax back yourself?
You would have to provide that company with all the relevant information for them to claim so why not just do it yourself?
Which tax year was the tax deducted?
Have you previously completed a Self Assessment return for that tax year?1 -

That's what I'm thinking but wouldn't have a clue where to start.
Which tax year was the tax deducted?
Again, unsure. It will be probably over 8 years ago.

I've never completed a self assessment. Always been PAYE0 -
The good news is this has a very simple answer
The bad news is that you are too late to claim any tax back. You (or any third party company) can't claim for any tax year earlier than 2018:19.Again, unsure. It will be probably over 8 years ago.0 -
Ah well then, that makes things very easy.
Much appreciated1 -

Do understand though that these firms cannot do anything you cannot do yourself. They rely on you to provide all the information for the tax claim (just as you would have done for the PPI complaint which I am guessing you did through these people?) and if you have that information you can simply ask HMRC to refund it, just like uniform tax credits, marriage allowance etc. Never use third parties

Phillip Hardwick and no more that thieves, they send you a letter saying that have claimed money back from HMRC then want to take half of it for themselves, avoid any of these companies if you want to keep your hard earned money.1

Perhaps more than 5 seconds due diligence (I.e. reading what you’re signing up for) and you wouldn’t now be paying 48% for what is literally a few minutes ‘work’.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0
