Didn't you post a few weeks back about going to work in Florida? Perhaps this employer could help?
She did, but all the OPs previous threads have ended up being deleted by admin.

Hopefully can be reunited with the soft toy, alternatively buy a replacement.

    Probably worth doing that anyway...
Signature removed for peace of mind
  • Is it worth contacting our local paper too or is that not likely to help?
Can you see anyone working at the resort in Florida reading a local northern UK paper?!

it is one toy to you but I expect it is just one of many item left behind by guests.

Someone would have  to spend time parcelling it up, filling out customs paperwork and then post it.

How long would that take for the probably many items left behind?

I've even offered to pay postage for it to be sent back to the UK and they still say no.
Sorry not a fan of the entitlement, it reads as if your expectation is that the resort organises an international delivery to your house at their expense - what do you mean you 'even offered', do you seriously think you're doing them a big favour here? This should have been your first suggestion!

Perhaps spend less time thinking about which UK newspapers you'll try peddle the story to, and get down to Smyths and pick up a new teddy.

I don't know if it's déjà vu, but I feel like I've seen this exact thread before... I believe slightly different details were revealed and people were much more supportive of the resort.

  • It's a pity if this was a wind up as I was going to offer to get said toy provided all my expenses were paid up front.

I'm guessing though the OP has a lucky escape as who would want to work for a company that has such poor customer service

For not organising a transatlantic shipment, filling out the customs & duty paperwork and some consideration of indemnity (as you can expect the OP will go absolutely ballistic if the goods get lost) - all for free (the original request was that the resort pay it)?

Yeah, the customer service is so poor.

We're not talking about a Rolex here, we're talking about a soft toy. Of the nearly 8 thousand google reviews, the hotel has an average rating of 4.6/5, with over 90% of reviews being 4* or 5*.

If the OP (or you) think they had a lucky escape from this hotel, I'm sure it won't bother them for even one second if you both never used them again.

I believe the original threads were closed because the OP had revealed she'd been 'less than amicable' about the whole ordeal.

No the other threads concerned the OP wanting to uproot her family and go and work for a theme park in the US whilst her husband didn't
